Top tips for writers.
You've heard me mention enemy words. Well, here is one of the worst enemy words for writers...VERY, lol. It's one of those words that is VERY annoying to many readers. Here are some alternatives to use. (Make sure you keep your enemy word list and check it often when you are editing. Very noisy- deafening-booming-earsplitting. Very often-frequently-regularly-routinely-repeatedly. Very old-ancient-elderly-decrepit. Very old fashioned-archaic-traditional-antique-vintage-retro.
